Install Black Arrow Revived from the Store on the XB Live dashboard, the same way on xemu and on a real Xbox. No ISO to download, and future Revived updates arrive the same way.

Under Black Arrow Online (xemu) Package Download on the front page, click Download next to your system. The current build is Build 27.
Unzip it to a folder you can find easily, for example your Desktop.
Open Black Arrow Online, follow the first-time setup and sign in to XB Live. No account yet? Create one and sign in.

On the XBL Dashboard, go to Settings > Updates.
Scroll down to Update channel and press A to change it from Stable to Beta.

Go to Store, press left / right on the D-pad to switch the category to Games, and look for Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow Revived.

Don't install it yet. First clear out old Black Arrow data in the next step.
Revived isn't in the Store
Check that the update channel is Beta (step 2) and the dashboard is updated (step 3), then press Y in the Store to refresh.

This deletes all Black Arrow saves and downloads on this xemu or Xbox.
Old Black Arrow saves, profiles, map packs and title updates override the Revived files. If Black Arrow isn't listed at item 3, there is nothing to delete: go to the next step.
On xemu: in the menu bar choose Play > Switch to Original Dashboard.
Select MEMORY, then Xbox Hard Disk, and press A.
Select Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow and press A.
Select DELETE, press A and choose YES.
On xemu: go back with Play > Switch to XBL Dashboard.

Played the soft launch? If your games folder still has BLACK_ARROW_REVIVED_GAME_DISC.iso, delete it. You don't need it any more.

Don't close xemu or turn off the Xbox while it downloads or installs.
Go to Store > Games, select Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow Revived, press A and download it.
Let it download and install completely. When it's done, the Store shows Installed.
The download or install seems stuck
Don't close xemu or turn off the Xbox. Note the message and the percentage, then report it on Discord.
Revived isn't in the Store
Check that the update channel is Beta (step 2) and the dashboard is updated (step 3), then press Y in the Store to refresh.

"Installed" means it's done
The game may start on its own when the install finishes. If not, go to Games, select Black Arrow and press A. The first launch can take longer; that's normal.
The game won't launch after installing
Close and reopen Black Arrow Online, then launch from Games (step 7).
The first launch is slow
Normal. Later launches are faster.

From the main menu, select XB LIVE and sign in. You reach the online menu (Quick Match, OptiMatch, Create Match and more). Have fun!
The room list is empty, or you can't join a room
Make sure no other Xbox or xemu in your home is signed in to XB Live and that UPnP is on (Playing online). Then sign out of XB Live and sign in again.

One device per home at a time
Devices behind the same router share one internet address, and only one of them can get the game port (3074). If more than one Xbox or xemu in your home is signed in to XB Live, the others can't see rooms or join them.
Turn on UPnP in your router
Open your router's settings page or app and make sure UPnP is on (usually under WAN, Advanced or NAT). With UPnP off, the room list is often empty or joining fails. If Windows asks whether to allow Black Arrow Online on the network, choose Allow.

With an open connection you play directly with the other players, which gives the lowest lag. If your router blocks that, XB Live relays your game through its server: it still works, with more lag.
Advanced: forward the ports
Give the PC or Xbox a fixed IP address in your router (a DHCP reservation).
Forward UDP 3074, UDP 88 and TCP 3074 to that address. Only one device can have these ports.

Double NAT: if your router's WAN (internet) address starts with 10., 100.64–100.127 or 192.168., another router or your internet provider sits in front of it. Set up forwarding on the front router, or ask your provider.
Revived isn't in the Store

The download or install seems stuck
Don't close xemu or turn off the Xbox. Note the message and the percentage, then report it on Discord.

Revived is a free community mod for the original Xbox version of Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow. It puts Black Arrow maps, maps from the original Rainbow Six 3 and community layouts into one multiplayer list, with updated map art, revised spawns and layouts, a revised HUD, new menu pictures, an intro, fun facts on the loading screens and THE STORY in Special Features (a short history and a message from Juve).
What you need
Everyone, on Xbox or on xemu, uses the same game disc, so everyone in a match runs the same game:
Game disc: BLACK_ARROW_REVIVED_GAME_DISC.iso
The Revived title update and all four map packs (Boot Camp, Village, Assault Packs 1 and 2) are built into the game disc. There is nothing else to install.

Do not mix in the official Black Arrow update, old map packs or an older Revived build.
First time with the launcher? Do its FIRST TIME steps 1–4 (sign in, network), but skip step 5 ("Black Arrow - Install Game Updates"). That installs the official update; Revived's own update is already on the game disc.
Put the Revived game disc into the launcher's games folder. Move any other Black Arrow or older Revived disc images out of that folder, so Play starts the right one.
Play > Play (the Revived game disc). The Press Start screen must say REVIVED 1.0.
From now on, do not use Play > "Black Arrow - Install Game Updates". It puts the official update and packs on top of Revived.
B. xemu without the launcher
Machine > Load Disc > the Revived game disc. The Press Start screen must say REVIVED 1.0.
C. Original Xbox that already has Black Arrow content
For an Xbox with the official update and map packs, or an older Revived. Needs a softmodded or modded Xbox with a file manager or FTP.
and, inside those same two folders, any copies whose names end in "(backup)"

Do NOT delete UDATA (your saves) or the whole 55530037 folder.
Start the Revived game disc (from your loader or a burned disc). The Press Start screen must say REVIVED 1.0.
Turn the Xbox fully off once (switch off at the back or unplug, wait 10 seconds), then start the Revived game disc again.

Until you power off, the start screen may still show an older Revived version in its top-right corner: the Xbox keeps that picture from the last disc you played. If Press Start says REVIVED 1.0, you are on the new game. Still seeing an old map or picture after the power-off? Report it with the map and what you saw.
D. Original Xbox, first time
Start the Revived game disc (from your loader or a burned disc). The Press Start screen must say REVIVED 1.0. There is nothing to remove or install.
Hosting and playing
The Press Start screen says REVIVED 1.0 on the right game.
New profiles host up to 16 players. A profile you already had keeps its old limit: in Create Match set MAX PLAYERS to 16 and choose ACCEPT.
SETUP changes are saved only when you choose ACCEPT.
Every map has at least 16 starts (at least 8 per team in Team Survival) and a 16-player limit in Survival, Team Survival and Sharpshooter.
Controls: the game's CONTROLS screen shows the normal layout. Hold X for the weapon-selection cross. BACK changes the minimap size.
Known issues
Works this way on purpose
Lobby SETUP changes are saved only when you choose ACCEPT.
The weapon-selection cross and the round timer keep their size and place.
Green team names line up roughly on the right; narrow letters can end a little early.
Some pictures sit on a texture that several maps share, so the same poster can show on more than one map.
Spectating lasts one round; in team modes you watch your own team.
Not settled yet (tell us what you see)
An Xbox that ran an older Revived build may show the old start screen (an old version in the top-right corner) until it is turned fully off once for 10 seconds (section C, step 4).
A full 16-player match has not been played yet. If a host stops at 8, report it with the host type (Xbox or xemu).
BOW | TRAINYARD (roof fixes) and BA | PUMPING STATION (merged layout, no fog) load and play in xemu but have not had a full online match yet: report any crash or missing texture there.
Do not post passwords, console keys or other players' addresses.
Community rules
Follow the server's rules. Do not cheat or exploit broken collision.
Treat other players fairly. Report faults so they can be reproduced.

And everyone in the Rainbow Six community who tested, reported, drew, mapped, recorded and believed it could be done.
Check your files
Compare the game disc's SHA-256 with the one shown on the Game ISO download card (use its Copy button). In PowerShell, in the folder with the download:
The long number it prints must match the card. Different? Download the game disc again.
